PRESERVING THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO
SERVED.... THROUGH HISTORIC MODELING

http://www.battlesceneproductions.net/Video/Be Proud To Be An American.mp3

Hello my name is Alex, I have been into Military Modeling for about 50 years. I have always had the utmost respect for those who serve our country, and I am proud to have served as a Firefighter in a Major New Jersey City, for the past 33 years. I retired in February of 2010, holding the rank of Battalion Chief. I also served at Ground Zero.

I started building plastic models at about 6 years of age, and have done so ever since. About seven years ago, while on vacation in Gettysburg, I stopped in a Toy Soldier Store, and I noticed the metal Toy Soldiers had improved tremendously. Now I found what I was looking for. Pre built replicas, that I no longer had to paint and detail. There were still some issues with scale and detail, but I got that all sorted out, and I began collecting them.

I had joined some Forums to gain additional knowledge, I then decided to use my modeling skills, and build a scene, which I posted on a popular Forum. A lot of members liked it, but the pure collectors seemed to frown upon it. Well I loved doing it, and I followed with more, again with mixed reviews. Well my persistence of combining the 1/35th scale modeling mentality, with the"Toy Soldier" Industry, has definitely gained momentum over the past few years. A variety of highly detailed products are now available by various Manufacturers. And displaying collections in a realistic enviornment, is becoming very popular also.

I met my partner Nick, who is an ex Albuquerque Aviation Police Sergeant, on one of the Toy Soldier Forums. Nick's artwork has been published in a poetry publication, made a couple of dioramas for a movie and has created a World War Two diorama which led to the first Native American to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor.

He and I soon began pooling our talent and doing projects together. We decided to give ourselves a name, which is Battle Scene Productions. Besides being a platform to show our work, this Web Site has evolved into a place where you can learn about various Military related products. And it reflects the respect we have for those who serve and protect us both at home and abroad. We hope as you browse our site that you will gain an appreciation of the sacrifices of those who served, and at the same time be entertained by our Battle Art and other features of the Site.
